Devon M. Lyon

The owner of Lyon Legal, P.C., with branches in Long Beach and Riverside, California, Devon M. Lyon was born and raised in Southern California and has deep roots in the region. With an extensive experience in law of about 23 years, she focuses on helping clients tackle issues with employment law, discrimination, protected leave, retaliation, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, employer representation, and wage and hour disputes. 

Ms. Lyon earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Linfield University in 1998 before attending Whittier College Law School. After graduating with a Doctorate in Jurisprudence in 2001, she became a licensed California attorney. During her final years of law school, she gained valuable experience by clerking at a plaintiff’s labor and employment firm in Irvine and volunteering at the Orange County Public Defender’s office. Post graduation, she joined another law firm in Long Beach, where she practiced insurance defense and assisted in establishing a law office in Orange County for a San Francisco-based firm.

In 2007, Ms. Lyon co-founded a law firm, concentrating on defending employers in labor and employment disputes. She represented several small and medium-sized businesses and served as Employment Practices Liability Insurance panel counsel for multiple insurance carriers. Leveraging her extensive experience in employer defense, she founded Lyon Legal in June 2015. Her firm represents employees and employers in labor and employment disputes and assists injured citizens in personal injury actions. She firmly believes in understanding the perspective of the opposing side to provide comprehensive representation.

Ms. Lyon has achieved numerous six and seven-figure judgments and settlements for employees and has effectively helped employers with litigation prevention and defense strategies. An active volunteer in youth athletics, she currently serves on the Executive Board of Los Altos Youth Baseball and Softball. She has a “Very Good” rating on Avvo.
