Mr. Perez earned his Bachelor of Arts in communication studies from the University of California, Los Angeles, graduating cum laude and earning recognition on the dean’s list. He later obtained his Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles. While in law school, he was an active member of the Public Interest Law Foundation, an organization devoted to supporting students committed to serving underrepresented communities.

Mr. Perez’s dedication to community engagement extended to his participation in the Street Law Teaching Practicum. In this capacity, he taught domestic violence survivors in transitional housing facilities about legal topics, including landlord-tenant rights, employment protections, financial literacy, protective orders and core family law concepts.
