Chantal McCoy Payton is the founder and Principal Managing Partner of the law firm, Payton Employment Law, PC in Los Angeles. Ms. Payton attended the University of California San Diego and received her bachelor’s degree in international studies in 2009, where she was an active member of the Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law fraternity. She joined the University of San Diego School of Law to pursue her law studies and earned her Juris Doctor in 2013. During her three years at law school, she held internships in several organizations and government offices.
Before founding Payton Employment Law in 2018, Ms. Payton worked at two prominent legal firms in the Greater Los Angeles area, where she fiercely advocated to protect the rights of the employees and sought to obtain financial compensation when employers failed to follow the law.

- $750,000.00 settlement on behalf of a public employee who was subjected to egregious harassment based on his race, sexual orientation, and HIV status and retaliated against after he made protected complaints about the harassment internally to HR and externally to the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing.
