Since 2001, Craig S. Pedersen has exclusively defended the rights of his clients in family law cases. As a partner at Meyer, Olson, Lowy & Meyers, LLP, he acts at times as lead trial counsel, and at times as a member of larger litigation teams, on cases involving a panoply of family law issues, including: child custody and physical parenting timeshare; child and spousal support; property characterization and division; and domestic violence. Now, he works primarily on high-asset cases involving divorce and custody in Los Angeles and Orange counties, as well as other surrounding counties in Southern California.
Mr. Pedersen attained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, graduating from Azusa Pacific University in 1991. Three years later, he earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles. In 1994, he was admitted to The State Bar of California, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
Whenever Mr. Pedersen takes on a family law case, he has two main goals. The first goal involves devising the best strategic plan to obtain the outcomes his clients seek. The second goal is to provide the best possible representation he can. He considers himself the envoy between the courts and his clients. He listens carefully to the concerns of his clients so he can become their greatest advocate in court and during alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
Mr. Pedersen has earned his fair share of praises for his work. For example, from 2017 to 2018, the Family Law Section of the Beverly Hills Bar Association presented him with an award of recognition for service as the Section's Co-Chair. More recently, from 2018 to 2022, Mr. Pedersen was a member of the California Lawyers Association's Family Law Executive Committee, and during that tenure he served one year as the Editor of the organization's main academic publication, the Family Law News. He also invests in the community and in the next generation of lawyers, having served on the Loyola Law School Alumni Board of Governors Association for 25 years, including time as a member of that association's Executive Committee and as its prior Chair.
