Derek O'Reilly-Jones

Derek O’Reilly-Jones is a Shareholder in the Los Angeles office of Bonne, Bridges, Mueller, O’Keefe & Nichols. His practice focuses on professional and healthcare license defense and medical staff peer review matters. He has distinguished himself in complex disciplinary, probation termination, and license reinstatement matters before the Medical Board of California, the Osteopathic Medical Board of California, the Physician Assistant Board, the Board of Registered Nursing, the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, the Dental Board of California, and many other agencies.  He has also prosecuted writ of mandate cases in state court against numerous state agencies and successfully defended clients in matters before the Veterans Affairs Disciplinary Review Boards.

Derek began his practical experience as an intern at the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office where he assisted in trial preparation for the major crimes and homicide divisions. At the Pepperdine University School of Law, he assisted Professors Harry Caldwell and Derek T. Muller in legal research on prosecutorial misconduct, election law, and California Supreme Court criminal cases. He also clerked at Lewis, Brisbois, Bisgaard & Smith and served as a judicial extern to the Hon. S. James Otero, Federal District Judge for the Central District of California.

Derek is admitted to the California Bar and is licensed to practice law before all courts of the State of California and the United States District Courts for the Central and Eastern Districts of California. He was selected to Super Lawyers "Rising Stars" list for 2025. This selection is based off of an evaluation of 12 indicators including peer recognition and professional achievement in legal practice.
