Ms. Arfa founded her own law firm, Fay Arfa, A Law Corporation, in 1986. Ms. Arfa has the distinction of being certified as a Specialist in both Criminal Law and Appellate Law by the State Bar of CA, Board of Legal Specialization. The National Board of Trial Advocacy, NBTA, has certified her as a Criminal Trial Advocate. Ms. Arfa defends people charged with state and/or federal violent criminal offenses, including sex offenses. She has achieved spectacular results for her clients including dismissals and acquittals in murder cases, in sex cases and other criminal cases.  She has handled hundreds of criminal trials and hundreds of criminal appeals, including petitions for writs of habeas corpus. She pulls out all of the stops to insure her clients get the best possible results.  

Ms. Arfa earned her B.A. from UCLA.  She also earned a Master's Degree in Public Administration (MPA) from UCLA. Ms. Arfa spent several years in public service working as a deputy for a Los Angeles City Council member. While working full time for the City Council member and then for a prestigious law firm, Ms. Arfa earned her J.D. degree from Southwestern University School of Law School. Before entering private practice, Ms. Arfa worked as an attorney with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and as a prosecutor with the Los Angeles City Attorney's office.  Admitted to practice in California, Ms. Arfa is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Central, Eastern, Northern,  and Southern Districts of California, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. 

Ms. Arfa has served as President of the Century City Bar Association (CCBA) and currently serves on the CCBA Board of Governors. She served on Los Angeles County Bar Assocation (LACBA) Board of Trustees. She actively participates in other legal organizations, including the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL), the California Public Defender's Association (CPDA), the Woman's Lawyers' Association (WLALA), the California Appellate Defense Counsel (CADC) and the National Child Abuse Defense and Resource Center (NCADRC).
