Gregory W. Smith

Gregory W. Smith has represented employees for over 33 years in the field of employment litigation. As a panel member of the Los Angeles Police Protective League, he often handles cases brought by police officers against the City of Los Angeles for a variety of employment claims. Mr. Smith also represents firefighters in the Los Angeles Fire Department for claims brought against the city. During the last several years, Mr. Smith has successfully prosecuted cases against public entities and private business in numerous high-profile jury cases.

Mr. Smith has settled multiple cases in the million dollar range. In 2009 Mr. Smith was one of the lawyers to set precedent in the case McDonald v. Antelope Valley Community College District when the California Supreme Court ruled that tolling was permitted in FEHA discrimination cases. In 2009, 2011 and 2019,  Mr. Smith was nominated as Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Los Angeles Consumer Attorneys' Association.  He is a member of ABOTA (American Board of Trial Lawyers) the most prestigious organization a litigator can be accepted into, only the best defense and plaintiff trial lawyers are invited into this exclusive group of attorneys.

In 2012, Mr. Smith was awarded the coveted "In The Line Of Duty Award" by the Los Angeles Police Protective League and Eagle Badge Foundation for his services in representing Los Angeles police officers. He received this award along with District Attorney Steve Cooley and actor Sylvester Stallone.
