John K. Rubiner is a partner in Freeman Mathis & Gary's Los Angeles office and is Chair of the firm’s Southern California Employment Team which consists of over a dozen employment attorneys. He is a highly experienced trial attorney who has tried to verdict a wide array of jury, bench and arbitration matters. His experience also includes five years Assistant United States Attorney in Los Angeles.

Mr. Rubiner has defended employers in virtually every type of employment case in his nearly 25 years of private practice. He has handled hundreds of discrimination, wage and hour, and harassment cases ranging from single plaintiffs to class action cases involving thousands of class members. He also regularly handles ADA accessibility suits, and Fair Housing Act claims.

Mr. Rubiner has significant experience in claims involving trade secrets and confidential information. As an experienced trial attorney, he also has handled numerous business litigation cases involving directors and officers of public, private and non profit entities, including claims for breach of fiduciary duty, FDCPA TCPA case whistle-blower claims, and various other business tort claims. Mr. Rubiner also represents property owners, landlords, HOAs and community associations in a variety of contract matters, governance disputes, and real property cases.

In addition, Mr. Rubiner defends professional liability claims, including professional negligence cases and errors and omissions claims against lawyers, insurance agents, real estate agents and other professional service providers. 

Mr. Rubiner is an active participant in civic and bar activities. His service includes president of the Beverly Hills Bar Association – a full-service bar representing over 6,000 lawyers. He also previously served on the Executive Council of the National Conference of Bar Presidents.
