Patrick DeBlase is a partner at DeBlase Brown Eyerly LLP in Los Angeles, California, where he concentrates his practice on representing people harmed by asbestos. He is one of the few mesothelioma lawyers who has tried such cases to verdict. He has a passion for representing people who were not told that the products they worked with in fact carried a significant risk of cancer. With over 30 years of experience, representing people with asbestos-related diseases has been a lifelong dedication for Mr. DeBlase. He has an unbridled passion for standing up for people whose lives have forever been changed due to the devastating diseases asbestos can cause. While he has obtained 7 and 8 figure verdicts in multiple states for people with mesothelioma, Mr. DeBlase believes that preparing for and trying cases is the biggest factor in obtaining justice and full compensation for people with mesothelioma. Companies who exposed people to asbestos decades ago know this and make settlement offer decisions accordingly. This is why the choice of lawyer for someone with mesothelioma is so important.
Mr. DeBlase obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree at UCLA and earned his law degree from Whittier Law School. He has been committed to understanding the science, medicine, work sites, products and law of asbestos caused disease since the 1980s. While at UCLA as an undergrad, Mr. DeBlase prepared discovery and other pleadings for the lawyers at a law firm which was one of the first to try asbestos personal injury and property damage cases in Los Angeles. Since those nascent days as an undergrad, Mr. DeBlase has devoted his career to those harmed by asbestos.
Mr. DeBlase is an active member of his legal community. He speaks at continuing legal education seminars and belongs to the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, the Consumer Attorneys of California, the American Bar Association and The American Association for Justice. He also sits on the J.T. Thorpe Settlement Trust and Thorpe Insulation Settlement Trust advisory committees.
Recognizing his contributions to the legal profession, Martindale-Hubbell awarded Mr. DeBlase an AV Preeminent* peer review rating. This is the highest rating by the organization, honoring attorneys demonstrating high legal capability and ethical standards.
