Christopher V. Beckman

Christopher V. Beckman is the managing attorney of Beckman Law P.C. in New York City, New York, where he advises clients on intellectual property (IP), business and corporate law, securities and corporate finance, and technology transactions. Over the course of more than a decade, he has built a reputation for guiding innovative companies – ranging from early‐stage startups to Fortune 500 corporations – through the complex landscape of IP protection and commercialization.

Mr. Beckman launched his legal career at a leading intellectual property boutique in Manhattan, assisting high‐tech clients in formulating and enforcing IP portfolios that underpin billions of dollars in revenue. His practical experience is grounded in a deep academic pedigree – he graduated with honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 2003, earned membership on both the Law Review and the Moot Court Board and received the CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in advanced constitutional law. Following law school, he clerked first at the federal level and subsequently for the Connecticut Supreme Court.

Licensed to practice in California, New York and Connecticut, as well as before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Mr. Beckman combines courtroom acumen with transactional knowledge. He has successfully negotiated the licensing and sale of numerous inventions and IP assets – an achievement made all the more remarkable given that fewer than 5% of patented ideas ever generate revenue.

Beyond his law practice, Mr. Beckman is an accomplished inventor and entrepreneur. He holds more than one hundred U.S. patents and patent applications, several of which have been licensed to industry leaders. He has founded multiple startup ventures and co-founded ScoreIP – an intellectual property consultancy – and JudicialStats.com – a pioneering big-data analytics platform. Through these enterprises, he empowers clients to develop data-driven IP strategies that deliver measurable results.
