An alumnus of the University of Houston, Mr. Alavi completed his Bachelor of Arts in political theory and classical history in 1988. Returning to his alma mater, he obtained his doctorate in jurisprudence in 1991. Initially, he was licensed to practice in Texas in 1992, after which he was admitted by The State Bar of California in 2010.
