Ms. Barta obtained her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, in 1990, where she graduated Order of the Coif. She was also a member of the prestigious St. Thomas More Law Honor Society, and she received several American Jurisprudence Awards for her excellent academic achievements.

She received her license to practice from The State Bar of California the same year she graduated from law school, and she is admitted to practice before all U.S. District Courts in California as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th and 11th Circuits and the U.S. Supreme Court.

A leader in her field, Ms. Barta is the author of "Greed on Trial," which exposes several instances that Ms. Barta handled firsthand involving the wrongful termination of doctors who rebelled against insurance policies to deliver appropriate medical care to their patients. The book won the 2018 Indies Gold Award.

In addition, Ms. Barta also maintains active involvement in her legal community, and she is a member of the Consumer Attorneys of California, the American Association for Justice, the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association, the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles and the National Association of Women Lawyers, among her other professional affiliations.
