Timothy J McElfish

As the Managing Partner for both California and Texas offices, Timothy McElfish has been a driving force propelling the firm to expand by adroitly responding to the ever-changing needs of clients and their businesses. Under his guidance, the firm strives constantly to improve its already outstanding efficiency and provide solutions to all client needs.

Born in Anchorage, Alaska, Tim grew up in the land of the midnight sun. Growing up in Alaska allowed Tim to develop the resilience and adaptability that carry forward into his professional career.

Tim sees the big picture. His wealth of knowledge eases the process of merger and acquisition transactions, entity formation, and commercial finance. His innate intuition about people gives him an advantage as he negotiates and manages joint ventures, including real estate acquisition or disposition transactions.

A wide range of businesses value Tim’s expertise enough to appoint him as outside general counsel for national and international business organizations. Tim helps clients see the bigger implications of all deals, from contracts to mergers, entity structuring, and all transactional and corporate governance matters. Tim focuses on more than the transaction at hand; his service includes business succession planning and advising clients on the tax implications of business and real estate transactions. Additionally, Tim navigates clients through estate and tax planning so they can pass on their wealth with confidence.

Tim brings a broad and diverse business background to every transaction. After obtaining his Juris Doctor, and while obtaining his LL.M. in Taxation, Tim served as a court-appointed trustee. During this appointment, he managed and negotiated the sale of numerous commercial assets that included hotels, restaurants, and retail properties.

When he is not busy building Ferruzzo & Ferruzzo, Tim spends time with his family, enjoying fine wine, and playing golf.
