Alan E. Kassan

As a partner attorney with Kantor & Kantor LLP, Alan E. Kassan brings more than three decades of experience to his representation of clients throughout the state of California. He focuses his practice on helping plaintiffs who have had their claims denied in matters involving long-term disability, life, long-term care and health insurance, and under both state law (insurance bad faith) and the federal law of ERISA.

Mr. Kassan was awarded his Juris Doctor by the University of San Diego School of Law. While in law school, he served as a member of the San Diego Law Review. Mr. Kassan received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Santa Barbara.  During his long career, Mr. Kassan has also worked on a volunteer basis as a mediator and has served as a judge pro tem. He is admitted to practice law before the state courts of California, the U.S. District Courts for the Central and Southern Districts of California, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.

Mr. Kassan has been actively involved in a number of legal and nonprofit associations, and is a recent Past President of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association, and a current Trustee of the Valley Community Legal Foundation.  He is also an active member of the American Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.

Mr. Kassan is frequently invited to speak to a variety of organizations on topics related to his field, including

attended the University of California, Santa Barbara, and Lupus LA, the National Association for Home Care & Hospice, California Advocates for Nursing Home Reform, the Private Duty Homecare Association, the American Society on Aging and the Aging Life Care Association.
