Andrew Kantor is a Senior Partner at Kantor & Kantor, LLP, one of the nation’s leading law firms representing individuals whose disability, life, and health insurance claims have been wrongfully denied. With a career rooted in compassion and advocacy, Andrew has dedicated his practice to helping people secure the benefits they deserve - particularly those living with chronic, invisible, or mental health conditions.
Andrew grew up immersed in client advocacy, following in the footsteps of his parents and firm founders, Glenn and Lisa Kantor. Inspired by their unwavering commitment to justice, he knew early on that his calling was to continue their legacy - championing individuals and families against powerful insurance companies that too often fail those most in need.
His practice focuses on ERISA and bad faith insurance litigation, with landmark victories that have shaped how disability insurers must interpret and administer their policies. One of Andrew’s most impactful cases, Renault v. UNUM, set a precedent that safeguarded workers’ rights to fair benefit calculations - ensuring that commissions and bonuses could not be arbitrarily excluded from disability benefits. His work has earned him recognition as a Southern California Super Lawyers Rising Star for seven consecutive years and inclusion in Best Lawyers in America (2025 and 2026) for Employee Benefits (ERISA) Law.
Beyond his courtroom achievements, Andrew is deeply engaged in education and advocacy around mental health and disability rights. He has served on the Community Advisory Council for the Solve ME/CFS Initiative and the Board of Directors for the Elder Law and Disability Rights Center, where he helps advance access to justice for individuals facing barriers to care and support.
A frequent speaker for national nonprofits and patient advocacy organizations, Andrew has presented for and collaborated with NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) affiliates across the West Coast - including NAMI Greater Los Angeles, NAMI Pierce County, NAMI Eastside, and NAMI Southern Nevada - as well as with the Lupus Foundation of America-California, the COVID-19 Longhauler Advocacy Project, the Solve ME/CFS Initiative, Pandemic Patients, the Ehlers-Danlos Society, the Parkinson’s Institute & Clinical Center, and the International Association for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (IACFS/ME). His presentations for these organizations have centered on mental health parity, long-term disability benefits, Long COVID, and workplace accommodations, reflecting his belief that knowledge is a powerful tool in reclaiming dignity and security.
Andrew holds a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Irvine School of Law, an MBA from Union Graduate College / Clarkson University (magna cum laude), and a B.A. from Union College (cum laude, departmental honors). He also has a Masters degree in Leadership as well as a Masters of Human Resource Management. He is admitted to practice in California and Washington, D.C.
Above all, Andrew approaches his work with empathy and determination—believing that every client deserves not only strong legal advocacy, but also respect, understanding, and hope.

- Unlike most people on the planet, Andrew Kantor grew up with #ERISA #law in his life. His parents, Lisa and Glenn Kantor, discussed ERISA law at breakfast, at dinner. Law became a fixture in Andrew's life. Many children of lawyers who grew up with one or even both parents who are lawyers, may have seen their parents bring work home. A lot of those kids would probably decide not to become lawyers. Seeing the intensity of the 24/7 job, may dissuade people from taking up the profession. This had the opposite effect on Andrew. Having is parents come home and talk about the cases with such passion and actual anger at the insurance companies' behavior. Even today Andrew sees that same passion, anger and focus to continue doing this work. Seeing this satisfaction at helping clients lead Andrew to believe he couldn't do anything else. Kantor & Kantor has a mission that is unique, especially among most lawyers. We get to help individuals who have been genuinely wronged. When we win a case, this is not just transferring funds between accounts; we are changing lives, at some times, even helping clients avoid homelessness. Being able to help people every day is an honor that Andrew cherishes., Andrew Kantor Shares the Passion to Help Change Clients' Lives, Insurance, Long-Term Disability, ERISA, 2019
- Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) is a disabling and complex illness. Despite medical and scientific evidence, many insurance continue to deny claims. In addition to blood work and doctors' opinions, there is cutting edge cardiopulmonary exercise testing being done to support these claims. We are making a lot of progress getting insurance companies and Federal Courts to recognize the validity of this testing. We know denial letters can be very intimidating, but do not be afraid. We can help you with your #appeal and secure victory at trial. We are here to help., Andrew Kantor Helps Get Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Sufferers the Benefits They Deserve, Insurance, Long-Term Disability, ERISA, 2019
