Our attorneys have over 20 years of combined experience handling a wide array of immigration cases, and specialize in complex removal cases that involve criminal issues, detenton, appeals, victims of crime, family-based petitions and LGBT applications. We represent individuals before United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS), the Department of State (DOS), the Immigration Courts, Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), the Administrative Appeals Office (AAO), and the federal courts in immigration matters.
Chelsea HaleyNelson is a certified legal specialist in immigration and nationality law, with a particular emphasis on complex removal defense, criminal and detention issues, LGBTQAI+ applications, and family based cases. She graduated from the University of San Francisco School of Law where she focused on human rights and public interest law. From 2005 to 2008, she was an associate at the Law Office of Robert B. Jobe. Chelsea is presently of counsel for the immigration program of the National Center for Lesbian Rights (NCLR), a mentor attorney for the pro bono asylum program of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights, and she is co-counsel with various pro bono firms representing victims of worksite enforcement raids. She is also past co-chair of the National Lawyers Guild, San Francisco-Bay Area Chapter’ Immigration Committee, Co-Chair of BALIF, the LGBT Bar Association, and EOIR Liaison for the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), Northern California Chapter. Chelsea has published a number of articles and has presented on international human rights of women and LGBT individuals, asylum, criminal and family-based petitions.
