Donna T. Gibbs

Donna T. Gibbs is a partner in Blum, Gibbs, Davies & Owen LLP, located in Oakland, California. Focusing her practice exclusively on family law, she represents clients in Alameda and Contra Costa County who require litigation, mediation or collaborative law services in connection with divorce, spousal and child support, child custody and other family law matters.  Ms. Gibbs was selected as the Best Lawyers in America* Oakland Lawyer of the Year for Family Law in 2020 and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.

After earning her bachelor's degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz, Ms. Gibbs graduated with a J.D. in 1997 from Santa Clara University School of Law, where she served as articles editor for the Santa Clara Law Review. After her graduation, she worked as a public defender in the Stanislaus County Office of the Public Defender before joining Blum, Gibbs & Davies LLP. Admitted to practice law in California, Ms. Gibbs is certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization as a specialist in family law and has been trained as a mediator.

Seeking to stay abreast of current developments in her field of practice, Ms. Gibbs is active in a variety of professional organizations. She serves on the board of the Alameda County Family Law Association. She is a member of The Collaborative Practice East Bay, an alliance of family law attorneys, mental health professionals and financial professionals trained and experienced in collaborative negotiation. Ms. Gibbs also belongs to the Alameda County and Contra Costa County bar associations, the Association of Certified Family Law Specialists and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. Fluent in both Russian and English, Ms. Gibbs has lived in the Bay Area since 1978.
