Martin Caraves

Martin Caraves, the founder and principal attorney at Torres & Caraves Law APC, has established a formidable reputation for vigorously defending clients against serious criminal charges. With his admission to practice in both California state and federal courts, he brings a robust approach to legal defense, focusing on a range of criminal issues, including DUI, drug crimes, domestic violence, federal criminal defense, sex crimes, violent crimes and weapon crimes. He bases his practice in Oakland, California, and extends his practice throughout the state.

His track record includes numerous dismissed charges in highly challenging cases such as child molestation, rape by force, child abuse and assault with a deadly weapon. Mr. Caraves holds a Bachelor of Science degree (2002) in economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Juris Doctor (2013) from JFK School of Law. During law school, he also served as a law clerk for the Alameda County Public Defender. He has earned a "Very Good" rating on Avvo, reflecting his professional excellence and integrity.
