Winston Moody

Winston Moody is a Partner with Gwilliam Ivary Chiosso Cavalli & Brewer. Located in Oakland, California, he provides dedicated and astute representation to clients throughout Alameda and Contra Costa counties. Mr. Moody has been a member of good standing in The State Bar of California since 2014, and he is accordingly admitted to practice before all California state courts.

The two practice areas that Mr. Moody has had the most experience with are employment law and personal injury and wrongful death litigation, although his background encompasses general civil litigation as well. In the employment law area, he provides advice and counsel to current, former and prospective employees on a variety of matters. These include discrimination that is prohibited under state and federal laws and that is based on pregnancy, race, disability, age, gender, sexual preference and national origin. Mr. Moody has also handled cases involving wrongful termination and other acts of retaliation, and he has represented victims of sexual harassment.

Mr. Moody's personal injury and wrongful death practice is based upon his furnishing assistance to plaintiffs who have been economically and noneconomically harmed due to the negligence or recklessness of others. He has familiarity with cases that are grounded in premises liability, truck and other motor vehicle crashes, construction site accidents, and defective products, and he has been able to obtain favorable settlements and jury verdicts on behalf of his clients.

Majoring in economics, Mr. Moody attended the University of West Florida in Pensacola, and he received a Bachelor of Science in business administration in 2006. His legal education came at the University of the Pacific's McGeorge School of Law, and he was awarded his Juris Doctor in 2013.
