Nancy Encarnacion Mass

Nancy Encarnacion Mass is a Certified Family Law Specialist and Partner at Lakin Spears LLP where she focuses her practice exclusively on family law matters. Working out of the firm's office in Palo Alto, California, she represents clients in the San Francisco Bay Area, including San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. Admitted to practice before all California state courts since 2003, Ms. Mass is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of California.

Ms. Mass's family law experience spans over 18 years, with a substantial portion of her current practice focused on high asset, complex, dissolutions, including those involving complicated asset and income structures, spousal and child support, and child custody and visitation. A forceful courtroom advocate when litigation is necessary, her experience in negotiations and mediation training allows her to help many of her clients reach an agreement through alternative dispute resolution. In addition to her divorce practice, Ms. Mass works with people to enforce and/or modify their Judgments, including those involving support and custody orders. Her family law experience also encompasses the preparation and review of prenuptial and post-marital agreements, as well as consulting to parties in mediation.  She has also helped domestic violence victims seek appropriate protective orders. Her successful track record, along with the strategic manner in which she handles what are often sensitive matters, has earned her a great deal of recognition from her peers, including a “Superb” peer review rating through Avvo.

Ms. Mass received a Bachelor of Arts cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1998. She is a 2003 graduate of the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and she has been certified as a specialist in family law by The State Bar of California's Board of Legal Specialization.  Ms. Mass is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.
