Phil graduated from the University of Southern California in 1966 then attended Loyola Law School where he obtained his Juris Doctor in 1969. Since then, he has completed courses at the University of Southern California's Gould School of Law in bankruptcy, litigation, real property law, insurance and corporate law and has received advanced mediation training at the Pepperdine Law School's Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution 

Mr. Hosp is member of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers, the National Arbitration Forum, the Defense Research Institute, the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel, the American Bar Association, the Pasadena Bar Association and the Los Angeles Bar Association.  He consults and lectures on issues related to alternative dispute resolution matters and procedures to bar associations and law firms. Mr. Hosp is currently admitted to practice in the state of California and before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
