Serving clients at the Mediation Center of Los Angeles (MCLA) in Studio City, California, Myer J. Sankary brings over 50 years of legal experience and two decades of background resolving complex, high-conflict disputes. Renowned for his interpersonal skills, he has mediated thousands of high-value cases across probate, family law, personal injury, real estate, employment and business insurance. His strategic focus and empathetic listening were instrumental in successfully guiding a multiparty charter school conflict to resolution over five weeks.
In probate and trust administration, Mr. Sankary offers rare insight gained from serving as a court-appointed trustee and conservator for large-asset estates facing severe family conflict. His deep legal background allows him to navigate sensitive interpersonal dynamics with clarity and authority. Whether resolving complex multiparty disputes or delicate family trust matters throughout Los Angeles, he provides the guidance, strategic foresight and neutrality necessary to achieve lasting, equitable settlements for all parties involved.
Graduating from Texas Christian University with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy, Mr. Sankary went on to enroll at Harvard Law School, where he received his Juris Doctor in 1965. In the next year, he was admitted to The State Bar of California. In 2006, four decades into his practice, he received the Multiple Dispute Resolution Training at Pepperdine University’s Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, gaining deeper insight into dispute resolution and mediation.
As founder, president and program director of the MCLA, established in 2013, Mr. Sankary actively strengthens access to justice. Through his leadership, MCLA serves as an authorized mediation resource vendor for the Superior Court of California for the County of Los Angeles, delivering low-cost mediation via independent panel members. His extensive civic dedication includes serving as past president of the Southern California Mediation Association and past chairman of the Solo and Small Firm Section of The State Bar of California.
