He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in criminology, law and society from the University of California, Irvine, before venturing to the University of Colorado, Boulder, where he obtained his law degree in 2016. The following year, he was licensed in California, ready to make his mark on the legal landscape. He is deeply involved in the legal community. He has been an active member of the Riverside County Bar Association (RCBA) since his early days as an attorney, serving on multiple Barristers’ Boards and currently contributing to this year’s Board. His commitment extends to the Asian Pacific American Lawyers of the Inland Empire (APALIE), where he actively participates in their mission.

As the treasurer of the newly founded Hispanic Bar of the Inland Empire (HBAIE), Mr. Barraza is helping to build a strong foundation for this organization, which is already making a significant impact in the community. In 2024, his peers recognized his leadership and dedication by electing him to the RCBA Board of Directors for a 2-year term. His commitment to service extends beyond the courtroom.

Mr. Barraza is currently engaged in his first year with the Riverside County Project Graduate Program, collaborating with the Riverside Superior Court and the Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) to empower foster youth to graduate high school, pursue higher education, and build successful futures.
