Virginia Blumenthal

Virginia Blumenthal is the founding attorney of the Blumenthal & Moore, APC, in Riverside, California. She focuses her practice solely on criminal defense and offers her service to the residents of San Bernardino and Riverside counties. With more than 40 years of legal experience, she has litigated a wide variety of criminal matters for her clients, including:

Majoring in speech communication and rhetoric, Ms. Blumenthal obtained her undergraduate degree from the California State University, Northridge, in 1970. The same year she started pursuing her master’s degree at the same institution and graduated in 1971. Later she enrolled in the California Southern School of Law and received her doctorate in jurisprudence in 1975. 

A diligent attorney, Ms. Blumenthal is recognized widely as one of the versatile litigators in the state of California. The founder of the first women-owned law firm in Southern California, she and her team of attorneys strives to protect the rights of the people and obtain them justice. Over the past years, Ms. Blumenthal has received several awards and honors in recognition of her work and contribution to the legal community and is rated AV Preeminent* through Martindale-Hubbell. She was named as one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers in U.S by The National Trial Lawyers and has been included in the list of the Best Lawyers in America by Best Lawyers since 1989. She was the recipient of the YWCA Women of Achievement “Person Who Makes a Difference” award in 2008 and the prestigious James H. Krieger Meritorious Service Award in 2015. 

Ms. Blumenthal is one of the founding members of the Riverside County Office of Education’s Mock Trial program, a competition designed exclusively for high school students to help them understand and comprehend the judicial system. She previously served as the president of the Riverside Philharmonic and is currently serving her fourth term as the president of the Riverside Community College District Board of Trustees.
