Attorney Betty Williams is the managing shareholder of the Law Office of Williams & Associates, PC, in Sacramento, California. With a practice concentrated exclusively on tax law, Ms. Williams serves individuals, corporations and governmental agencies in the Sacramento area, throughout the United States, and in foreign tax jurisdictions in civil and criminal tax matters.

Ms. Williams graduated from California State University, Sacramento, and earned a law degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, graduating with honors. She also holds a master of laws degree in taxation from the Washington Institute for Graduate Studies in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Ms. Williams is admitted to practice before all California state courts, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern and Eastern districts of California, the U.S. Tax Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, the Supreme Court of California and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Ms. Williams is a member of the State Bar of California and the American Bar Association. She serves on the U.S. Tax Court Appointments Committee of the American Br Association; is the Vice President of the California Lawyers Association, and a Fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel. Most recently, she joined the California Office of Tax Appeals external advisory committee, and the CJA Trial Panel for the Office of the Federal Defender.

She is the former Chair of the Executive Committee for the Taxation Section of the State Bar of California and has served as the Chair of the Sacramento County Bar Association's Taxation Section and Business Section. Betty has also served as a commissioner for the Sacramento Regional Human Rights/Fair Housing Commission. She has authored numerous articles on a variety of legal topics for professional publications and frequently gives presentations to groups such as the American Bar Association, and the California Lawyers Association.

Recognized for her exceptional efforts on behalf of her clients, Ms. Williams has received a number of honors and awards.  Her firm has also received top awards for tax litigation.
