In his professional practice, Mr. Becker advocates for companies and individuals, focusing on employment-based immigration matters for mid- and small-sized businesses, researchers, scientists, investors and IT professionals. He has a robust litigation track record of successful verdicts before immigration courts and has achieved successful outcomes in appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit. 

A board-certified immigration law specialist by the California Board of Legal Specialization, Mr. Becker obtained his bachelor’s degree in Spanish and psychology from the University of Montana located in Missoula, in 1999. He earned his J.D. from Tulane University Law School in New Orleans in 2004. In 2005, he was licensed to practice law in California. 

Beyond his legal acumen, Mr. Becker is actively involved with The State Bar of California’s Immigration and Nationality Law Advisory Commission, The Bar Association of San Francisco and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. He has also dedicated his time mentoring numerous asylum cases for the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law and providing pro bono services to several nonprofit organizations.

Mr. Becker has also contributed to the legal community as a speaker for over 40 continuing legal education panels nationwide, instructing attorneys, law students and nonprofit lawyers on immigration law. Moreover, he has participated in drafting and grading the immigration law specialization exam for The State Bar of California. 

With a robust background in Latin American issues, Mr. Becker represents clients globally, drawing on the extensive international experience he acquired in Argentina, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Spain and Mexico. Additionally, he is a U.S. Fulbright Scholar who conducted postgraduate research on gangs and street children in El Salvador, and owns an immigration law staffing firm based in Bogota, Colombia.
