Katie A. Collins

Katie Collins is a Partner at Duggan McHugh Law Corporation practicing primarily employment law.

Katie has successfully represented clients in all areas of employment law, including the defense of claims involving workplace discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour issues, Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) actions, and class actions. Additionally, she provides advice and counsel to employers concerning their workplace policies, practices, and personnel decisions.

Katie regularly assists employers with all aspects of their employment relationship, including recruiting and hiring; employment agreements and compensation plans; wage and hour laws; independent contractor status; performance standards and disciplinary actions; privacy; leaves of absence and reasonable accommodations; preventing discrimination, harassment, and retaliation; reductions in force, terminations, and layoffs; and compliance with other state and federal employment laws.

While attending law school at Pepperdine University, Katie obtained a Certificate in Dispute Resolution from the highly-ranked Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution. Katie’s time at the Straus Institute allowed her the opportunity to gain practical experience learning to negotiate, mediate, and arbitrate.

Katie is also a member of the Association of Workplace Investigators (AWI) and has passed the rigorous test to obtain a certificate in workplace investigations from AWI. She conducts independent and neutral investigations for both public and private employers.
