Brett M. Weaver

A partner at Lewis Kohn & Walker LLP in San Diego, California, attorney Brett M. Weaver represents a diverse clientele in complex legal disputes. His areas of proficiency encompass a variety of business litigation matters, including, but not limited to, breach of contract, fraud, professional malpractice, breach of fiduciary duty, trademark, trade secrets, unfair competition, defamation, employment matters and securities litigation.  

Throughout his extensive career that spans over two decades, Mr. Weaver has effectively argued and secured favorable verdicts in numerous cases across state and federal courts and many arbitration proceedings. His appellate experience is equally notable, having presented cases before the California Courts of Appeal, the Arizona Court of Appeals, the Washington Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.

After obtaining his Bachelor of Arts with a political science major and a history minor from The University of Arizona, Mr. Weaver earned his Juris Doctor (1999) from The University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law. While at law school, he completed externships with Judge Judith L. Haller at the California Courts of Appeal and Judge Richard J. Haden at the Superior Court of California, County of San Diego. He was licensed to practice law in California the same year he graduated law school.

Prior to his current tenure at Lewis Kohn & Walker LLP, Mr. Weaver honed his litigation skills at two respected boutique law firms in San Diego. In 2011, he co-founded his own practice focusing on business and securities litigation, with operations extending to San Diego, New York and Georgia. In 2017, he transitioned to serve as the external litigation counsel for a burgeoning start-up in the consumer products industry.
