Charles Christensen

Attorney Charles Christensen is the Managing Partner at Christensen & Spath LLP in San Diego, California, where he focuses his practice on state, local and municipal law, as well as construction litigation, real estate law and general civil litigation. He serves clients throughout the San Diego area.

Over the course of his more than 47 years in practice, Mr. Christensen has represented private clients and public entities in many complex civil matters. His cases have involved administrative law, construction defect litigation, contractor claims and defenses, housing law, mechanic’s liens, and land planning and redevelopment law. He has served as both general and special counsel to various public agencies.

Among other honors he has received, Mr. Christensen was granted the AV Preeminent* rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest possible rating from the peer-review service, in recognition of his professionalism and ethics.

Outside of running his practice and managing his law firm, Mr. Christensen stays active in his legal community. He belongs to the San Diego County Bar Association and the American Bar Association.

Mr. Christensen earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Claremont McKenna College in 1970. He went on to receive his law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1973. He holds a license to practice law before all California state courts, the U.S. district courts for the central and southern districts of California, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and the Supreme Court of the United States.
