Mr. Kaplan holds a bachelor’s degree in law and criminal justice from the University of California, Irvine with honors. He received his law degree from the University of California Hastings College of the Law.

Mr. Kaplan received his law license in 1995. He is eligible to practice in all California state courts and before the U.S. District Courts for the Central and Southern Districts of California, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.
