The following year, she was admitted to practice in California and before the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.
During law school, Ms. Maestre served as board member and coach for the Appellate Moot Court Team and competed on the university’s national team. She won the Third Place Petitioner Brief National Moot Court and was a quarter finalist in the National Entertainment Law Moot Court at the Pepperdine Caruso School of Law. She began her legal career as a law clerk at the Juvenile Division of the San Diego Public Defender's Office.
