Mulligan is a highly respected, award winning attorney recognized in the legal community for her consistent and thorough investigation, meticulous preparation and zealous representation. Mulligan has been recognized as a Top Attorney in the New York Times, Los Angeles Magazine and San Diego Magazine. She also has been selected for advocacy and leadership awards from the American Bar Association, the international UIA bar association, the San Diego County Bar Association, Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, Orange County Consumer Attorneys, Lawyers Club and the San Diego Press Club. She is a proven leader in the community, serving on several prominent boards and committees. Ms. Mulligan is curently the president of the Health Law Commission of the International Association of Lawyers (UIA), and the immediate past-chair of the American Bar Association (ABA) TIPS Cybersecurity & Data Privacy Committee. She is a past-chair emeritus of the ABA Standing Committee on Medical Professional Liability and a former member of the ABA Standing Committee on the American Judicial System. Ms. Mulligan also served as a Commissioner on the State Bar of California's Judicial Nominee Evaluation Commission (JNE). 

She frequently teaches lawyers courses in multiple courses insurance, malpractice, cybersecurity and big data and trial techniques. Ms. Mulligan previously served as a clinical instructor at the University of California San Diego Medical School, where she instructed on topics related to patient safety issues and ethics. 

She has successfully prosecuted complex cases involving numerous high profile defendants including corporations, insurance companies, hospitals and nursing homes. For over 30 years, Ms. Mulligan has been representing individuals and families who have experienced life-changing losses from medical malpractice, product liability, transportation accidents and/ or nursing home abuse. On the cutting edge of innovative legal issues, Ms. Mulligan also has advanced knowledge and experience in representing parties in potential individual and class action claims arising from cyberattacks on personal health data, stem cell and/or fraud.

  • Following a trial where the defendant made no offer, Ms. Mulligan and her law partner Brian Findley, obtained a $5.5 million dollar jury verdict. The day following the unanimous verdict, the jury visited the grave of the deceased patient, leaving a note of sympathy and respect for his spouse. Two separate awards were given for this jury verdict, naming Ms. Mulligan "Top Gun in Medical Malpractice" by the Orange County Bar Association and "Trial Star" by the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, CASD OCBA
