Jeffrey T. Petersen

The founder of Petersen + Landis, P.C., in San Diego, California, Jeffrey T. Petersen, is an established attorney with over two decades of experience in the legal sphere. Handling matters related to business and corporate law, intellectual property, and mergers and acquisitions, he represents numerous businesses, including manufacturing, networking, communications and agriculture. Upon graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management, Mr. Petersen proceeded to pursue legal education at Georgetown University Law Center. While at law school, he served as articles editor for the Law and Policy in International Business Journal. In 2001, he gained admission to practice law in both California and Illinois. With his deep understanding of businesses and his legal acumen, he built a strong foundation for his business law practice.

Among his noteworthy works, Mr. Petersen represented Kraft Foods in the prominent Sara Lee Corp. v. Kraft Foods Inc. case, involving a lawsuit over false advertising for hot dog brands. In this case, he managed the pretrial litigation, leading to a settlement between the parties. In the legal community, he is a member of the Lawyers Club of San Diego, the San Diego County Bar Association and the Business Law Section of The State Bar of California. He was named Best of the Bar by the San Diego Business Journal twice, in 2015 and 2017.
