Meredith King

Meredith King is a seasoned insolvency and commercial litigator at Franklin Soto Leeds LLP, San Diego, California, with a comprehensive background in representing a broad range of clients, including financial institutions, receivers, judgment creditors, court-appointed fiduciaries, general contractors, real estate owners and developers, and business owners. Her practice spans multiple areas of litigation in state, federal, and bankruptcy courts, where she adeptly handles workout, restructuring, and enforcement actions.

Ms. King has extensive experience with Chapter 11 restructurings, complex Chapter 7 cases, bankruptcy-related mergers and acquisitions, asset sales, valuation disputes, cash collateral issues, and adversary proceedings, serving both financially distressed and solvent companies seeking to reorganize or recapitalize. Her practice focuses on guiding clients through intricate, multi-party matters, providing clear direction and strong advocacy throughout all phases of litigation.

Before her current role at Franklin Soto Leeds LLP, Ms. King was an associate attorney at one of San Diego’s most reputable law firms and spent nearly five years as the Honorable Margaret M. Mann’s career law clerk. She graduated cum laude from Smith College and magna cum laude from California Western School of Law, and was also a recipient of academic merit and creative problem-solving scholarships. During her law school tenure, she served as the executive editor of lead articles for the California Western Law Review and interned at the Department of Justice, Tax Division in Washington, D.C.
