Rachael K. Kelley

Rachael K. Kelley is the chief technology partner of Burton Kelley LLP in San Diego, California. With extensive knowledge of technology and information systems, she focuses her practice on legal matters such as bad faith, premises liability, products liability, landlord-tenant issues, insurance fraud, construction law, insurance coverage and defense and more. 

Ms. Kelley is well-known for understanding the needs and goals of her clients and creating personalized strategies for each unique case. She provides knowledgeable counsel to her clients with an unwavering commitment to their needs. Ms. Kelley holds a “Good” rating on Avvo. 

With a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and a minor in Spanish from the University of Arizona, Ms. Kelley earned her Juris Doctor degree from the California Western School of Law. While in law school, she graduated with dean’s list honors and was a member of the Pro Bono Honors Society.

Ms. Kelley is passionate about helping those who need it the most and served as a volunteer intern at the Legal Aid Society of San Diego, Inc. She also was a law clerk at the YWCA of San Diego County. Honored for her remarkable pro bono work, Ms. Kelley was awarded the Wiley W. Manuel Award by The State Bar of California and the Outstanding Service Award by the Legal Aid Society of San Diego. 

Ms. Kelley’s legal experience includes training claims handlers on good faith claims handling and insurance guidelines. She is the law firm’s electronically stored information (ESI) expert, helping her clients save a lot of money through her knowledge of computer programs and systems in response to mass discovery in litigation.

Actively affiliated with legal associations, Ms. Kelley is the community co-chair of the San Diego Association of Business Trial Lawyers, where she takes care of all technology-related matters for several events. She is admitted to practice in the state of California and the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.
