Robert C. Ryan

With nearly four decades of experience, Robert C. Ryan has been committed to representing individuals with their fights against powerful institutions. Founding Robert Ryan Law in San Diego, California, with the same aim, he handles matters of personal injury, sexual harassment, legal and medical malpractice, civil rights and bad faith insurance. Known for his strong advocacy and compassionate client service, he ensures his clients receive suitable compensation. 

Upon graduating from the University of Washington with a bachelor’s degree, Mr. Ryan pursued his law degree from Willamette University College of Law. Gaining his Juris Doctor in 1987, he also earned his license to practice in California in the same year. Additionally, he is admitted to appear before the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Central Districts of California. Initially, he served as a senior district attorney trying several cases, including murder trials. 

Later transitioning into insurance defense, Mr. Ryan gained invaluable insight into the operations of insurance companies. This experience has shaped his current practice, assisting him in creating iron-clad approaches to hold negligent parties accountable. Over the past 20 years, he has won multiple verdicts, including a $930,000 verdict against the City of San Diego in a sexual harassment case. Each case he handles, he prioritizes client satisfaction, ensuring they are supported and informed throughout the process. 

In the legal fraternity, Mr. Ryan stays active through various memberships, including the Consumer Attorneys of California, the American Association for Justice, the California Employment Lawyers Association, the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles and the San Diego County Bar Association.
