• I have represented four death row inmates on appeal.I assist on a case by case basis with pro bono defense of indigent defendants wrongfully charged with crimes.

Scholarly Lectures / Writings

• I published a novel about an attorney who became a "blind mule"...unknowingly importing drugs into the United States from Mexico.  My principal motive was to educate the general publlic about blind mules. Honors

• I received special recognition for achieving an acquittal after two trials in the largest cocaine smuggling cases (eleven tons) in United States maritime history.  This case involved a Russian national accused of drug smuggling from Colombia aboard a fishing boat., Special Recognition, San Diego Criminal Defense Bar Association, 2004
• I received "kudos" for obtaining a total acquittal in a first degree murder case., Kudos, San Diego Criminal Defense Bar Association, 2007
• I achieved a reversal on appeal in a life case and secured liberty for my client., Appellate Attorney of the Year, San Diego Criminal Defense Bar Association, 1998
