Sara R. Neumann

Focusing her practice exclusively on family law matters, Sara R. Neumann is an attorney at Yelman & Associates. Admitted to practice in California since 1997, she is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit. In addition, Ms. Neumann has been certified as a specialist in family law by the Board of Legal Specialization of The State Bar of California.

Ms. Neumann’s firm is located in San Diego, and she provides representation to clients throughout the greater metropolitan area. A significant portion of her practice involves divorce, and she assists people whose marriages are ending and who are thus having to deal with issues such as the division of complex community property, child custody and visitation, alimony, and child support. Ms. Neumann’s experience in mediation often allows her to help many of her clients reach an accord on those matters through that form of alternative dispute resolution, but she is also a tenacious courtroom advocate on their behalf when litigation has proven to be necessary.

In addition to her divorce practice, Ms. Neumann has worked on a variety of other family law matters. Her experience has encompassed the preparation and review of prenuptial and post-marital agreements, paternity establishment and disputes, the enforcement of and modifications to existing support and parenting court orders, and the obtaining of protective orders for victims of domestic violence.

Ms. Neumann is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego, where she majored in U.S. history and received a Bachelor of Arts in 1993. She then went on to obtain her legal education at Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles, and in 1997, she was awarded her Juris Doctor. Her professional memberships include the San Diego County Bar Association.
