Barbara A. Lawless

Representing those in the San Francisco Bay Area facing legal issues of employee and employment law, Barbara A. Lawless is a founding partner at Lawless, Lawless & McGrath. She handles cases of sexual harassment, wrongful termination and employment discrimination, representing employees. Admitted to practice by The State Bar of California since 1972, she has over four decades of experience and knowledge earned inside and out of the courtroom.

Ms. Lawless shares her insights into the employment law through lectures and seminars given to the Labor And Employment Law Section of the State Bar, the Continuing Education of the Bar, the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association and the California Trial Lawyers Association Wrongful Termination Program. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Marymount College and went on to earn a Juris Doctor from the University of California at Berkley Law. 

A member of The State Bar of California, The Bar Association of San Francisco, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the National Employment Lawyers Association and the American Board of Trial Advocates, Ms. Lawless has spent years advancing her professional knowledge and experience. She has worked as a board member of the Consumer Attorneys of California since 1992, for eight years as a board member of the California Employment Lawyers Association and as president of the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association.

During her tenure as a skilled attorney, Ms. Lawless has published several pieces of writing and been awarded the Women Trial Lawyers Caucus of the AAJ’s Distinguished Law Firm Award.
