David B. Hoppe is the managing partner of Gamma Law in San Francisco, California. He authors articles on legal topics and speaks at events including the Japan Online Game Association. He holds licenses to practice law in California and New York.
Mr. Hoppe lived and worked in Japan for several years and is a member of the Japan Society of Northern California, the Inter-Pacific Bar Association and the International Bar Association. He writes and speaks Japanese and regularly travels to Japan for speaking engagements and to meet with clients. He also belongs to the Blockchain Game Alliance, the Video Game Bar Association and the VR/AR Association.
After earning a bachelor’s degree, Mr. Hoppe graduated from Georgetown University Law Center. Over the course of his legal career, he has worked in a diverse range of roles, including as a North American general counsel for a Japanese video game publisher, an in-house international counsel for a Silicon Valley-based internet portal and as a senior associate with an international law firm based in New York.
