Jessica Taran

With more than two decades of professional legal experience, attorney Jessica Taran serves as a partner at Niesar & Vestal LLP, a full-service business law firm based in San Francisco, California. An experienced litigator, Jessica handles complex business disputes, focusing primarily on founder and shareholder disputes, as well as complex judgment enforcement.

Admitted to The State Bar of California in 2003 and the New York State Bar in 2004, Jessica completed her Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 2002. In law school, she was a member of the Intellectual Property Law Association, a featured writer in the Intellectual Property Law Association Journal and a recipient of the CALI Excellence for the Future Award. She has a bachelor’s degree in political science, which she completed in 1999 from the University of California Los Angeles.

While in law school, Jessica served as an intern at the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office, honing her litigation and trial skills. After graduating law school, for over a decade, Jessica worked for a private law firm in New York. There, she represented clients from public and private corporations, including hedge funds and large financial institutions, and high-net-worth individuals in complicated commercial disputes. During these years, she earned a trove of practical experience litigating cases, which she applied to her successful solo practice in San Francisco for the following decade.

Jessica has extensive experience not only in the courtroom, but also at the negotiating table. She takes the time for in-depth research about each case and the parties, focusing in recoverability of any claims, before strategizing. She prioritizes providing personal attention and efficient action through developing relationships with her clients, opposing counsel, and a network of trusted vendors.
