Details

With empathy the main drive to see her elder clients get the justice and compensation they deserve for the pain and suffering they have endured due to the neglect of care of nursing homes and other elder care facilities, Karman Guadagni is a compassionate elder law attorney and advocates for her clients wholeheartedly and is enthusiastic to see them start a new chapter of their lives. At Stebner Gertler Guadagni & Kawamoto in San Francisco, California, she takes on cases throughout the state and also occasionally handles personal injury and wrongful death matters as well.

Ms. Guadagni completed her undergraduate education at the University of Oregon and graduated in 2003 with her bachelor’s degree in journalism, with a minor in Spanish. With a career in news media in mind, the injustice she has seen perpetrated against the most vulnerable group in society gave her the desire to help them and give them the happiness and comfort they require in their later years. She enrolled at the University of California College of the Law and received her Juris Doctor in 2009.

Obtaining her license to practice across all California state courts the same year she graduated from law school, Ms. Guadagni also gained admission to practice before the United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, Southern and Central Districts of California the same year as well. For her continued support of the elder community, she was named Distinguished Female Attorney of the Year in 2019 by the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association (SFTLA).

Outside her law practice, Ms. Guadagni is an active participant within her legal community through close affiliations with prominent organizations such as:

  • The SFTLA (member of the Women’s Caucus and the New Lawyer’s Division)
  • The Consumer Attorneys of California
  • Queen’s Bench (member; co-chair of the Work/Life Balance and Employment Committee)
  • The California Advocates for Nursing Home Reform (part of the Lawyer Referral Service Advisory Committee)

Not only advocating judiciously for senior citizens, Ms. Guadagni also helps raise awareness of myriad issues and topics that the general public needs to be aware about by conducting many continuing legal education seminars and publishing many articles about the same.
