Lorie S. Nachlis

As a co-founder of Nachlis Freeman LLP, Lorie S. Nachlis represents clients in cases of family law and all subcategories. Her practice is centered in San Francisco. She represents clients in Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara and Alameda counties, along with the cities of Oakland and San Jose. With almost four decades of experience, she is armed with the compassion and respect every client needs as they transition through a difficult time.

A graduate of the University of California Hastings College of Law, she earned a Juris Doctor in 1980 and has been practicing family law since then. She is admitted to practice in the state of California and handles cases of spousal support, divorce, child support, child custody and mediation. While her goal is to settle cases out of court to save time and money and alleviate stress, Ms. Nachlis is prepared to litigate a case when necessary to protect the best interests of her clients.

Certified by The State Bar of California as a family law specialist, she is also certified by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers as a fellow. Ms. Nachlis offers services to other law firms in the form of referee, arbitrator and judge pro tempore to settle child custody cases quickly and in the best interests of the child.

A believer in the value of nonadversarial options and consensual dispute resolution, Ms. Nachlis offers mediation, co-parenting, parenting coordination, early consultations and neutral evaluations, private arbitration and judging services, traditional settlement conferences, and litigation and trial consultation to other firms. While she prefers to allow her clients to remain in control of their cases outside of court through collaborative process and mediation, she is also experienced in getting her clients what they need through litigation.
