Lorie S. Nachlis

As a founder of Nachlis | Cohade | Lopez-Whitaker LLP, Lorie S. Nachlis represents clients in cases of family law and all subcategories. Her practice is centered in the San Francisco Bay Area. She represents clients in Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Contra Costa and Alameda counties.  With four decades of experience, she is armed with the compassion and respect every client needs as they transition through a difficult time.

A graduate of the University of California Hastings College of Law, she earned a Juris Doctor in 1980 and has been practicing family law since then. While recognizing that the best resolution is one crafted outside of court, whether with the assistance of a mediator or private judge or through counsel, Ms. Nachlis is prepared to litigate a case when necessary to protect the best interests of her clients.  When children are involved, Ms. Nachlis works with her client to pursue a strategy that is informed by the best of interests of the children.  

Certified by The State Bar of California as a family law specialist, she is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.   She has mentored many attorneys throughout her career and has taught classes and provided trainings to judges, lawyers and mental health professionals.
