Merra Kurubalan

Basing her practice in San Francisco, California, attorney Merra Kurubalan serves as an associate at the Lubin Olson & Niewiadomski LLP. Here, she focuses on resolving her clients’ issues in matters pertaining to commercial litigation, construction, real estate litigation and other litigation.

In 2013, Ms. Kurubalan graduated from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in accounting and business law. Later, in 2017, she secured a law degree from The University of Western Australia, Perth, where she was a member of the Australia-Singapore Law Student Society and the UWA SSS Committee. Soon after, she honed her experience preparing pleadings and offering her input on various high-value construction and investor-state disputes, serving as a clerk, intern and legal assistant at several firms.

Focusing primarily on complex commercial litigation matters, Ms. Kurubalan has grown in her field by offering dispute-resolution tactics across clientele from diverse sectors, from education and residential to energy, infrastructure and information technology. She caters to the needs of her clients by providing her experienced advice that stems from years of working with various firms, working on complex commercial litigation matters and offering critical support on international arbitration clashes.

Along with admissions to The State Bar of California, Ms. Kurubalan also has international licenses to represent clients in Australia and New Zealand. She is admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern and Eastern Districts of California, the High Court of Australia, the Supreme Court of Western Australia and the High Court of New Zealand. Her professional affiliations include the Friends of the Children, where she is a board member and chair of events, and the International Chamber of Commerce Young Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution Forum, where she is a representative for the North America 2024-26 mandate.
