Early in her career, she was the youngest member of the team responsible for representing the heirs of Christopher Wallace, also known as The Notorious B.I.G., in a $360 million wrongful death claim filed against the Los Angeles Police Department. Ms. Speed has also represented Michael Jackson’s mother, Katherine Jackson, in a number of issues, including a wrongful death action arising out of her son, Michael's, untimely death.
Currently, Ms. Speed is carving out a niche in the legal community for representing victims of clergy sexual abuse. She recently obtained a $3.5 million settlement on behalf of her client who had been sexually abused by three priests from the Diocese of Oakland.
On any case, be it a high-profile issue or a seemingly cut-and-dry fender bender, Ms. Speed gives every client her undivided attention. She takes her role seriously, as she understands how these incidents affect someone on a number of levels: financially, physically, but most importantly, emotionally.
