With a deep-rooted passion for helping those who have suffered wrongdoing, Sandra Ribera Speed is the founder of Ribera Law. She advocates for people in sexual abuse and significant personal injury cases in the San Francisco Bay Area and throughout California. In the courtroom and in settlement negotiations, Ms. Speed remains steadfast in her pursuit of justice for her clients.
Since earning her law degree from Loyola Law School in 2004, Ms. Speed has focused on representing those persons who have been significantly injured by the wrongdoing of another person and/or entity. Ms. Speed has played a role in a number of multimillion-dollar cases. Early in her career, she was the youngest member of the team responsible for representing the heirs of Christopher Wallace, also known as The Notorious B.I.G., in a $360 million wrongful death claim filed against the Los Angeles Police Department. Ms. Speed has also represented Michael Jackson’s mother, Katherine Jackson, in a number of issues, including a wrongful death action arising out of her son, Michael's, untimely death.
Over the last decade, Ms. Speed has been carving out a niche in the legal community for representing survivors of sexual assault and abuse. Currently, Ms. Speed is litigating several childhood sexual abuse cases involving various clergy and school districts, as well as several cases involving medical professionals who sexually assaulted their adult patients.
On any case, be it a high-profile issue or a seemingly cut-and-dry fender bender, Ms. Speed gives every client her undivided attention. She takes her role seriously, as she understands how these incidents affect someone on a number of levels: financially, physically, but most importantly, emotionally. Ms. Speed looks at her relationships with her clients as a partnership. She walks with them every step of the way in their quest for justice as well as emotional and physical healing.
Active in the legal community, Ms. Speed is the immediate past President of the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association and on the Board of Governors for the Consumer Attorneys of California where she has been recognized with its Champions of Justice Award.
