Attorney Solomon B. Cera is the managing partner with the Cera LLP law firm in San Francisco, California. Serving a diverse range of clients across the country, Mr. Cera devotes his practice to antitrust and securities litigation, copyright litigation, consumer class actions and corporate governance.
An attorney for over 40 years, Mr. Cera has achieved unprecedented success aggressively litigating on behalf of his clients, using his vast knowledge of the law and extensive experience in complex litigation to help recover substantial settlements and awards for his plaintiff clients.
As some examples of his successful litigation practice, he served as lead counsel in a three-year antitrust price fixing litigation class action, where he helped recover over $163.5 million for hundreds of businesses. In June 2022 Mr. Cera was part of the trial team in a securities fraud class action in the Southern District of New York which resulted in a jury verdict for the plaintiff class. The case resulted in a recovery for the class of more than $14 million. In 2025 Mr. Cera argued and obtained a significant appellate victory in a case which vacated denial of class certification pursuant to a Federal Rule of Civil Procedure Rule 23(f) petition, whereby the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals established for the first time the test for standing to be applied in class action cases arising in that circuit. Wilson v. Centene Mgmt. Co., LLC, 144 F.4th 780 (5th Cir. 2025). Early in his career, Mr. Cera led a securities fraud class action against a series of oil and gas partnerships, recovering more than $33 million on behalf of thousands of investors, and obtaining orders relieving class members of hundreds of millions of dollars in promissory note obligations. Mr. Cera has led numerous other significant cases throughout his career resulting in substantial recoveries for his clients.
A 1978 graduate of Pomona College, Mr. Cera attended the University of San Francisco School of Law, where he obtained his Juris Doctor in 1981. While in law school, he received the American Jurisprudence award for his exceptional academic achievements in corporations law, and he also served as a member of the moot court competition team, receiving an award for best oral advocate.
In 1981, The State Bar of California admitted him to practice, and he is also admitted to practice before numerous federal courts across the nation, including the U.S. Supreme Court.
In recognition for his impeccable professional ethics and extraordinary legal abilities, Mr. Cera holds an AV Preeminent peer review rating* from Martindale-Hubbell.
