Jennifer A. Mello

Jennifer A. Mello is a family law attorney with over 20 years of legal experience. She is a partner at Mello & Pickering, LLP, in San Jose, California, serving clients in the San Jose area and statewide. She handles all types of family law matters and has experience with divorce, adoption, alimony, annulment, child custody, child support, legal separation, modifications, paternity, prenuptial agreements, postnuptial agreements and property division. 

As a family lawyer, Ms. Mello is experienced with both traditional litigation and alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation. She is committed to helping her family law clients achieve the best possible resolution to their situation, whether inside of outside of the courtroom. She understands that a family-related legal situation is complex and stressful and strives to guide her clients successfully through the process.

Outside of the office, Ms. Mello regularly speaks on family law topics for the Santa Clara County Bar Association and at Santa Clara University School of Law. She has been certified as a certified family law specialist by the State Bar of California Legal Specialization Program and is a member of the Association of Certified Family Law Specialists. She holds a license to practice law before all California state courts.

After graduating from the University of California, Santa Barbara, with a bachelor’s degree in law and society, Ms. Mello earned her law degree from Santa Clara University School of Law. While attending law school, she developed her legal experience by working for the County of Santa Clara Alternate Defender’s Office and the Santa Cruz Public Defender.
