Richard Alexander is the founder and managing partner of Alexander Law Group, LLP, a San Jose, California-based law firm, where he provides legal representation to individuals and families in complex personal injury and civil litigation matters. His practice focuses on motor vehicle accidents, including high-value truck and semi-truck collision cases, catastrophic injury claims, product liability litigation, toxic chemical exposure, wrongful death matters and other serious injury cases involving dog bites, police brutality and sexual abuse.

With over 55 years of legal experience, Mr. Alexander has built a reputation as a skilled trial attorney and advocate for injured plaintiffs. Throughout his career, he has handled numerous high-stakes cases involving traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord damage, paralysis, severe burns, amputations and defective products. His commitment to pursuing justice for those harmed by negligence has resulted in substantial recoveries for his clients.

Among his notable achievements is securing a $79.86 million trial verdict involving a defective surgical stapler, recognized as the largest defective product verdict in California. He also obtained a $10.1 million trial judgment for a brain damaged child, even though the child was determined to be 66% at fault; a $3 million recovery in a traumatic brain injury case involving a defective stairway and a $2.25 million recovery for an intoxicated bicyclist whose arm was crushed by a VTA bus.

Mr. Alexander earned a Bachelor of Arts from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1966 before obtaining his Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago Law School in 1969. He is also certified as a civil trial advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, a distinction that reflects his extensive trial experience and professional competence.

Admitted to practice in Michigan in 1969 and California in 1971, Mr. Alexander is also admitted before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. An active leader in the legal community, he has served in numerous leadership positions with The State Bar of California and the California Trial Lawyers Association and is a founding member of several prominent legal organizations. In recognition of his professional skills, he has earned an AV Preeminent* peer-review rating through Martindale-Hubbell.

*AV®, AV Preeminent®, Martindale-Hubbell Distinguished and Martindale-Hubbell Notable are certification marks used under license in accordance with the Martindale-Hubbell certification procedures, standards and policies. Martindale-Hubbell® is the facilitator of a peer-review rating process. Ratings reflect the anonymous opinions of members of the bar and the judiciary.
