Riley Pennington

A staunch attorney at the San Jose, California, law firm of Lonich Patton Ehrlich Policastri, PC, Riley Pennington has spent the past seven-plus years developing experience in family law. She derives pride from the tireless work she does for her clients and pushes for nothing short of the results they need and deserve. She is licensed to practice in California (2015) and the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.

A native of Northern California, Ms. Pennington attended Sonoma State University to earn her Bachelor of Arts in political science and government in 2011. During her time there, she served on the executive board of the Panhellenic Council and as a president of the Alpha Xi Delta fraternity. 

Ms. Pennington obtained her doctorate in law from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2015. While in law school, she was placed on the dean’s list for her academic preeminence and was given the Jefferson Medal for excellence in legal writing. She was a member of the Thomas Jefferson School of Law's Public Interest Law Foundation (PILF) and Family Law Society.

Early in her legal career, Ms. Pennington worked as a clerk and later as an associate at a well-known San Diego boutique law firm, helping families chart the way forward by guiding them with issues such as divorce planning, property division, pre- and postnuptial agreements, domestic violence, restraining orders, child custody and support, and spousal maintenance.

Certified as a specialist in family law by The State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization, Ms. Pennington was given a “Superb” rating on Avvo. She has also received many five-star reviews on Avvo.

When not at her desk, Ms. Pennington volunteers her time and services to underprivileged groups in California. She was presented the “Wiley W. Manuel Award” and the “San Diego Volunteer Service Distinguished Service Award” for offering hours of quality pro bono legal services.
