A co-founder of Temmerman, Cilley & Kohlmann, LLP, Robert E. Temmerman, Jr., focuses his practice on estate planning, trust and estate administration, and related litigation. With clients throughout Santa Clara and Contra Costa counties, he has been certified as a specialist in estate planning, trust and probate law by The State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. The quality of Mr. Temmerman's work and the respect he has accordingly received from his fellow attorneys have resulted in him being awarded an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell. He has also been selected for inclusion in the Best Lawyers in America.

Mr. Temmerman has prepared and reviewed a wide variety of estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and financial and health care powers of attorney. He places a particular focus on the preservation and protection of sizable estates. In his estate administration practice, Mr. Temmerman has prepared federal estate and gift tax returns, assisted in complex estate accountings and handled litigation involving breaches of fiduciary duty. His experience also encompasses conservatorships and incapacity planning.

Mr. Temmerman has served on the executive committee for what is now known as the Trusts and Estates Section of the California Lawyers Association. Other of his professional memberships have included the Santa Clara County Bar Association and The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. Mr. Temmerman's community involvement has included serving on the board of directors of the Centre for Living with Dying. Admitted to practice before all California state courts, he is also admitted to practice before several federal courts, including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, the U.S. Tax Court and the Supreme Court of the United States. He received his Juris Doctor magna cum laude in 1980 from Santa Clara University School of Law.
